KurganDAO

A crypto app focused on decentralized autonomous organizations known as DAOs.
Project Overview
KurganDAO is a crypto app meant to help users organize their involvement in DAOs (Decentralized Autonomous Organizations). KurganDAO enables users to join multiple DAO groups, swap for tokens, invest and communicate with other DAO members.
My Contributions - Product Design, UX and Brand Identity
On this page I'll be going over my whole process, including research, persona, task flow, sketches, wireframing, low and high fidelity protoyping anduser testing.
What are DAOs?
Research
DAOs stand for Decntralized Autonomous Organizations.

Simply put, a DAO is a group of people interacting through smart contracts. DAOs in practice could be anything really, corporation, a non profit, a bank, a bookclub and so on.

We are still in the early stages, and currently the main way people access a DAO is to visit a website or participate in the DAO's Discord server. Discord provides DAO members with a lot of functionality but it lacks any crypto utility. Discord is used to learn, plan and communicate but users can only truly participate in a DAO by separately accessing a particular DAOs website. Decentralization brings new challenges.
Perona
Empathize
Meet Kieran, the Crypto Enthusiast. Kieran recently learned about DAOs and is interested in what they are capable of.He’s discovered various DAOs through Twitter, joined their Discord Servers and visited DAO websites but is finding the whole process chaotic and confusing. He wishes there was an easier, more straightforward way to participate in the emerging communities of DAOs.
Task Flow
Define
For the task flow I chose to focus on the onboarding process from connecting a crypto wallet to joining a DAO, swapping cryptocurrency and finally casting a vote in the DAO.
Sketches
Ideation
I drew a lot of inspiration from Discord and other crypto apps knowing that user familiarity with UI can be helpful. I sketched ideas for Groups, Channels, Token Swapping and Voting.
From there my sketches lead me to my first low fidelity prototypes
Low Fidelity Prototype
Prototyping
Here i have examples of the home page, with featured DAOs --the opened view of a DAO with channels -- and lastly a token swap feature
Usability Testing
The next stage was usability testing. Here are a couple examples of improvements made after testing. Adding a welcome pop up for new users and adding a status bar in the voting cards for extra information.

HighFidelity Prototype
Prototyping
Here i have examples of the home page, with featured DAOs --the opened view of a DAO with channels -- and lastly a token swap feature
Visual Identity
Ideation
I chose to go with a minimal stark aesthetic for my branding. White, black, greys and muted blue tones.---I also made some additional 3D branding elements in blender.
